Pro’s Pick was founded by enthusiasts seeking a superior product for their own projects. From humble beginnings starting with supplying classic truck beds, our product lines have continued to grow. Although we have mainly focused on our own product line, over time, there was a need to complement our proprietary selection with products from other suppliers, but the goal remains… “supply parts that we would be proud to display on our own vehicles”

Our Team
Founders: John and Shirley Swaving
John’s love for anything mechanical goes back to his early years growing up on a farm in southern Ontario, Canada. The family craftsmanship and ingenuity eventually nurtured another business to life in the form of a welding and fabrication shop. Together with one of his brothers, John eventually took over this business from their father, which they ran together for many years. Shortly after restoring a 1952 Ford F1, and building his own truck bed in the welding shop, Pro’s Pick was born. John continues to enjoy working on, and rebuilding his vehicles, as well as other activities such as traveling, snowmobiling and tractor pulling. Along with his wife Shirley, who has always been by his side, and helped manage the companies, they love to spend time with their 7 children and 27 grandchildren.
Owners: Jeremy and Jacqueline Swaving
Jeremy spent much of his youth alongside his father, John Swaving, traveling to truck shows, doing odd jobs for the businesses or working on the “Purple Truck”. After high school he started working in the Parts Department at a Mack truck dealership where he worked in a variety of roles, gaining over 15 years experience. Together with his wife Jacqueline and their 4 children they enjoy camping, cottaging, riding ATVs and just spending time with family.
Owner: Rod and Janine Dykstra
John and Shirley’s daughter Janine joined the team after graduating high school. She played a very important role in the day to day operations, until her growing family called her to spend more time at home. Together with her husband Rod, and their 3 children they enjoy spending time on their property, working on their rides, snowmobiling, camping and traveling. Now that Janine’s children are getting older she is becoming involved in the company again.
Retiree: George Tremain
George has spent his life around cars, new and old. He spent many years wheelin’ and dealin’ used cars (always for the best price in town of course) and often has a project of his own on the go, from a Model A truck to a 70’s Ford Econoline van and everything in between. George and his wife Janice have been a real help around Pro’s Pick over the years and although he’s now retired he comes in often to lend a helping hand… if you’re lucky you might even get him on the phone one day.
Sales: Henry Osterveld
Henry is oftentimes the voice on the other end of the phone when you call in. He has many years of experience in the automotive industry, from running an automotive repair shop and working on vehicles, to inside parts sales. His knowledge and experience are crucial to his role of sourcing the correct parts for your restoration! Henry, with his wife and two sons enjoy life on their country property where many projects keep them busy including some truck restorations.
